Oh- yes- this is correct. But it´s no risk: If the GPS has no signal the gyro gain goes to the minimum. No oscillation of the model will happen. But yes- you will not find out when it´s not working.

Do you need to change any settings on the GPS 1 to work with the Igyro3e?
Mine came with an SRS igyro, but as I'm not using that, I thought I could use the GPS 1 in my new jet.
I've updated my GPS2 previously, just wanted to check if the GPS 1 needs to be set to "igyro" or something else.
Tried using the GPS2 on the terminal, but it just says no powerbox device connected.

I will plug it in and see what happens. wonder if it might be worth doing my set up without the GPS and then repeating with it. I assume I should see an increase in the gains with the GPS compensating?

It´s no risk if you setup without GPSD and then connect it. Only the gain will be lower. What you should not make: adjust with GPS and then unplug it.
